By Jackie Salo. October 26, pm Updated October 29, am. Several adult films surfaced on Pornhub featuring a female teacher from California allegedly engaged in sex acts with a teenage female relative, according to reports. Woodside High School officials contacted police last week about the X-rated videos, which allegedly showed a student sexually involved with year-old Dawn Giannini, an elementary school teacher in Palo Alto, news station KNTV reported. Officials said the investigation was launched after the teen girl was recognized on the porn site by a classmate, who flagged the videos to the principal. The erotic scenes allegedly were filmed starting in when the victim was 14 years old, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Giannini was arrested Oct. Read Next. One is that this age group often seems much more childlike than adolescent. Plus, there are concerns about health issues like unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. People also bring their own worries about emotional trauma, as well as the moral impact, of early sex to the table. And additionally, many of us assume thanks to media-induced fear-mongering that the earlier someone starts having sex, the more likely they are to end up involved in everything from drugs to crime. And while I can assure you that early sex does not a later criminal make, a lot of the concerns around early sex are, indeed, valid and understandable. Yet, a lot of parents get pretty upset thinking about a middle schooler having sex — to the detriment of the situation. And this is why understanding a bit about why this happens — and how to talk to kids when it does — will go a long way towards helping families navigate this territory in a healthier manner. But the fact is, this is a normal part of adolescent development and one way that preteens and teens demonstrate their growing independence. There are a few things we need to know about brain development. The prefrontal cortex develops through learning and becomes more effective through experience.

MONDAY, April 8, HealthDay News -- Talking to your children about sex can be awkward, but new research suggests that parents need to have those conversations much earlier than they do. That number varied greatly depending on where the boys lived. Race and ethnicity also made a difference in whether or not a young person had an early sexual experience. Black males were most likely to have sex before 13, followed by Hispanic males. The author of an accompanying editorial, Dr. David Bell, agreed. Bell, an associate professor at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, pointed out that talking about sex doesn't encourage young people to have sex. The average age that teens initiate sex is around 17, according to Bell, and that number hasn't really changed in years. However, he said that the percentage of youths having early sex initiation before 13 has been decreasing for more than a decade. And that decline is good news, because having sex before 13 is linked to increased sexual risks, such as having multiple sexual partners and sexually transmitted infections, the editorial said.
